End of an Era

This is it... Last day in Jackson. My father flew in on Sunday. Showing him around and packing up. Leaving tomorrow on the 2,800 mile drive north to AK. Lots of great memories in this town.

It's Official - I'm moving to Anchorage

It's official - I am moving to Anchorage, Alaska. I received an unexpected job offer Monday evening... I accepted it last night. I'll be moving by the end of the month. It's going to be a big, fast change. I will be a real engineer.

The last three years in Jackson have been life changing... some of the best adventures, incredible friends, and life long memories. I'm excited to be starting a new chapter of life, but I'm definitely going to miss this place.

Wind River Range

Heather and I went on a camping trip this Wed/Thurs down in the Wind River Range near Pinedale, WY. We planned and packed to go on a mini backpacking trip, but it could barely be called that. After taking a better part of Wednesday to leave town, we realized that we wasted too much time to realistically do any worthwhile hikes. Instead we found an awesome camping spot on the Green River. Aside from the mosquitoes being bad in the early evening, it was great.

It was hard... but the decision has been made. More news to come soon...

Middle Fork Cutoff

The girls left this morning on a three day trip on the Teton Crest Trail. Heather and I decided to ride the tram up and hike the first part of the trail with them. We hiked the Middle Fork Cutoff from the tram to where it meets up with the Teton Crest Trail. It was just over 8 miles, pretty much all downhill going out and uphill coming back. We would have liked to have hiked further, but we didn't have to be racing to make the last tram. Missing it would have added an additional 7 mile hike down to the village.
