Another day in the life... Bus home from the village almost slid sideways off the snake river bridge. Thankfully the bus driver pulled it together.

Snow piles at the apartments... Yes, that's the second floor poking out!

Lots of snow and cancelled flights

Due to major ski boot pain, I've been snowboarding lately. Rode knee to thigh deep snow this morning... it was like surfing! Maybe I'll stick to this snowboarding thing. My buddy Sean is supposed to be flying in today... he was sent to Denver due to a plane sliding off the runway. Hopefully things will be back in operation soon... and hopefully the snow will keep coming down.

American Airlines jet goes off runway in Wyoming

The Associated Press
Wednesday, December 29, 2010; 3:49 PM

JACKSON, Wyo. -- American Airlines says one of its jets went past the end of the runway while landing at Wyoming's Jackson Hole Airport, but no one was injured and the plane appears undamaged.

Airline spokesman Ed Martelle says Flight 2253 from Chicago "had a long rollout" when it landed shortly before noon Wednesday. The plane came to rest on a hard surface and did not go off into grass or brush

There were 175 passengers, two pilots and four flight attendants on board the Boeing 757. Officials are trying to determine why the plane couldn't stop sooner.

Janice Altman, who lives near the airport, says the plane came to rest in an area of deep snow. The National Weather Service reports Jackson Hole has received up to 7 inches of snow since midnight.

Another day of pow... Waiting for the tram!

A Skier's Journey

Kashmir - A Skier's Journey: Ep1

The first in a series of 3 ski-travel episodes, skiers Chad Sayers and Tobin Seagel travel halfway around the world to Kashmir to ski the high altitude Gulmarg gondola, only to find the snow pack is a ticking time bomb. Never the less, they find safe areas to ski and discover the beauty of Kashmir and the Himalaya - its people and its landscape.

La Grave - A Skier's Journey: Ep2

The second in a series of 3 ski-travel episodes, skiers Chad Sayers and Tobin Seagel continue their worldly winter journey arriving in La Grave, France - home to the Téléphérique La Grave-La Meije, a quirky yet stalwart cable car that transports skiers to 3200m, high in the Southern French Alps.

Here, the terrain is wild, unmarked, and unpatrolled - a stripped down, raw version of big mountain skiing. With 2km of vertical drop, a simple ski run journeys through a labyrinth of glaciers, couloirs, and forest glades. Local freerider Bruno Florit, and UIAGM mountain guide Joe Vallone share how unique and special La Grave is, but also reveal the respect a skier must have for the mountain when in search of such deep rewards.

Freshfield Icefield - A Skier's Journey: Ep3

The last in a series of 3 ski-travel episodes, Jordan Manley returns home to Canada, visiting the iconic Canadian Rockies. Set to the backdrop of Banff National Park and the Freshfield Icefield, Manley and the Sherpas Cinema crew round out their ski season, climbing and skiing for 6 days out of their picturesque base camp.
