20 Seconds of Joy

I went to an event last Thursday in the Teton Theatre to listen to Karina Hollekim speak. Karina was once the top woman base jumpers in the world and the first woman to do a ski-base jump. I remember watching this documentary about her a few years ago at the Banff Film Festival in Burlington. It's called 20 Seconds of Joy. A film about her base jumping and her accident in 2006. She has since had dozens of surgeries and 12 cm of one of her femurs removed. She was never supposed to walk again. After four years, she is walking again and skied for the first time again last winter. It was amazing and very powerful to listen to her talk.
