A Day at Targhee

Dana and I decided to take advantage of our days off and ski at Grand Targhee today. It was fully open and there was a lot more snow than at Jackson Hole. The drive to Targhee took about an hour and a half. On the way, we saw some elk in the road.

[ I loved the reflection of the sky in Dana's goggles ]

I decided to wear my new ski suit...which is pretty much ridiculous. It's growing on me though. Dana will never lose me.

[ Camo? I think not. ]

It was pretty cold, but the day started off with blue skies and sunshine. It had been a couple of days since it snowed, but there were still plenty of fresh tracks to be had. There were no lift lines and the views were amazing. Targhee reminded me a lot of Alyeska in the respect that a lot of the mountain was above the treeline. You could pretty much just pick your line and go.

[ Obviously blurry, but I think you get the idea... ]

We ran into Jake, one of our co-workers from the rental shop and his roomate, Andy. We skied with those guys for most of the morning.
