Life has been busy, so here I am playing catch up again. The early July trip to Alaska was short, but great. I ran in the annual Mount Marathon race on the 4th. This was year 7 racing in the Adult division, year 9 overall (counting junior races).
Mamie came up to Alaska with me so we tried to keep busy. We went rafting on the Talkeetna River, went on a wildlife tour out of Seward, took a quick trip up to Hatcher Pass, and did some exploring around Anchorage and the Valley. The trip was short, but packed full.
I had pre-ordered the iPhone4 and picked that up while I was home. The camera is better than the camera on my little point and shoot, so I should be able to upload some pretty awesome photos remotely.
I've been getting out to ride my bike a lot lately and helped during a dig day on Teton Pass last weekend. The new trail has a lot of work to be done, but looks like it is going to be insane. Very well planned out and built. I'm excited for it to be officially open.
I tried out the GPS app on my phone 'Trails'. I mapped out the Jimmy's to Parallel section in the pass and imported it into Google Maps. Pretty awesome. I've attached an image of the trail.
I'll try to upload a bunch of Alaska/Summer in Jackson photos this week.

My next benz?
If/when I get another Benz, I think I'd like to have a 500E, early 90's. Baller status. Older cars are sick.

Curtis Canyon
I went skeet shooting up Curtis Canyon with the guys the other night. One of the first nice nights we've had in a while.

Verizon is down
My verizon cell phone has been out of service for six hours. I'm guessing a tower must be out. You kind of forget how much you rely on your cell phone and cell towers. At work, our entire computer system and credit card system were down. It made me think about the fact that I don't even have a land line at my home.

Push Industries
I did some damage to my mountain bike fork last fall in Winter Park, so I had to send it off to get some repair work done. I sent it to Push Industries last week to get the Factory Rebuild and Factory Fork System kit where they use your weight and riding style to fine tune your fork for top performance. My appointment with Push is tomorrow so hopefully I will have my fork back by the weekend. Almost ready to get back up Teton Pass!

Corinth Canal Jump
This video is ridiculous. Robbie Maddison successfully jumped over the 279-foot wide Corinth Canal at a height of over 300 feet above the canal surface. He hit the jump at 78 mph.
Mom, you should be glad none of my bikes have ever had motors.
